Just about everything in society is based entirely in out-of-control ego. People hear that word and think it just means "I'm better than you." Sure, that comes into play, but the ego is simply the part of you that separates you from others. Without the ego, you wouldn't know to drink water with your own mouth. It's what gives a person their sense of individuality.
The problem, though, is when we let ego take the wheel, when we think identity is the totality of who we are and cling to that, whether it be race, sexuality, gender, profession, etc. Out-of-control ego-identity is what makes you say "I AM my race, I AM my sexuality, I AM my gender." No, those are just roles you're playing. They're just experiences. When you cling to those things, you create an unhealthy mental complex. You disconnect yourself from your spiritual nature, thinking that the body is all you are.
All the identity stuff is pushed because it not only holds you back from any real self-discovery and self-knowledge, it creates division. It causes people to stop recognizing everyone else's rights and sovereignty because you're so caught up in your own self-centered world. And when a bunch of ego-attached people get together, that amplifies. They start focusing on the collective identity, and then it becomes a cult of "MY rights, MY needs, MY comforts, MY freedom, screw everyone else."
Having identity isn't bad, but thinking it's all you are IS. We are all just beings having experiences that we're supposed to learn from and evolve as a species. Believing that the body is the totality of you cuts you off from spiritual understanding, and cuts you off from those around you. You anchor yourself in a limited worldview.
The Powers That Shouldn't Be want people in this mindset. When you're rooted in ego, you can be easily manipulated, controlled and duped. You fall into moral relativism, too. Whether it's wokeness, politics, religion, race, whatever.. they don't care how you do it, as long as you do it. If we're all divided like this and have no true conscience, we can't come together. We lose sight of our shared purpose, sovereignty and rights.
Be you, but understand that the ego-identity is not WHO YOU ARE. You're a spiritual being having a human experience. We're all Sovereign, we all have the same inherent Rights regardless of our differences. Freedom belongs to everyone, to exercise our Rights without restraint, coercion or duress. If you don't understand that, you've lost the plot, and nothing will change. You are free to disassociate from whoever you want, but we can't lose sight of the truth: we're all in this together. We're all responsible for the mess we're in because we let ego overpower the still small voice of truth.
Keep the ego in check. It's there to serve a purpose, not to take control. Do the shadow work (breaking down mental barriers, facing your own darkness, developing true self-respect so that you can extend that respect to others). Become a Conscious Being with Conscience, Courage and Care (Agapé Love). If it's not freedom for all, it's not freedom AT all.
