7. DEVELOP MIND-FULLNESS

This next solution for consciousness change is Mindfulness. Not the mind being full, but the fullness of consciousness. We can understand Mind-FULLNESS by quieting the mind, emptying it of thoughts for a time so that we can experience pure conscious awareness.

Pure conscious awareness exists in the space between thoughts, where the creative/generative principle of our thoughts derives from. Meditation is one of the practices that can bring mindfulness as it is a set of different techniques that quiets the mind. There are sitting meditations, walking meditations, deep-breathing and stretching meditations. There are some that can be used in conjunction with music. There are numerous forms, but the best method is the one that works best for you, that you resonate or feel comfortable with.

Meditation is simply about turning down the volume of the active mind so that one can, for a time, bathe in the quality of pure consciousness divorced from the chatter of the mind. We need to turn our volume down so that we hear the true voice that is speaking to us at all times with one message: Relinquish Control. We can only hear it if we turn our mental chatter down. This voice never speaks above a whisper. It does not impose will or control. It is saying

"the attachment to the illusion of control is what is bringing your suffering upon you. Relinquish control and understand and live in harmony with That Which Is: The Truth. And then you will know Order and Peace and Prosperity."

But to do that we have to get over the idea that we're in control of anything or anyone. You're only in control of what you think, how you feel, and how you act in the world. So, relinquish control through this process of developing mindfulness. Be an observer of the Self, of how we behave in the world, and turn down the noise of the mind.

ENTHEOGEN

GREEK:

EN – WITHIN
THEOS – DIVINE

LATIN:

GENERE – CREATE

8. USE OF ENTHEOGENS (IN A CONSCIOUS CONTEXT)

The last part of that is the most important. This means understanding what an entheogen is, what it does, how to administer it or take it yourself, and to use it for the correct reason: in the correct environmental setting, the correct psychological setting, and for the right purpose. These are not toys or games, and shouldn't be used recreationally. These are consciousnesses to commune with. This is what true Communion is. Not a dead sacrament, but an active sacrament.

The entheogen is a psychoactive compound that alters consciousness and helps us experience a higher (and often strange) level of awareness that is quite divorced from our ordinary state of consciousness. The word itself means, etymologically, "to create the Divine within." We can begin to recognize the Divine within us and help cultivate it by communing with an entheogenic compound.

Entheogens have also been called Psychedelics. The word comes from the Greek psyche meaning "mind," and deloun meaning "to make clear." So, we can see things clearly in the mind when we commune with a psychedelic if it is used in a conscious context.

Some of the most popular entheogenic compounds would be Cannabis (THC), Mushrooms (Psilocybin, Ibotenic Acid), and Ayahuasca (DMT). These are powerful psychoactive compounds – some more powerful than others – that can help us to go deep within our consciousness and explore the rich tapestry of the psyche within each of us.

These substances are demonized and made "illegal" in many places. Imagine that.. naturally-occurring compounds found in Nature that are off limits to adult human consumption because those who make such "laws" believe that you don't own your own consciousness. That's what these draconian "laws" are saying to us:

"You, as an adult, do not have the choice as to whether you feel it proper to modify your consciousness as you see fit. WE own your consciousness, so we are saying that this experience is off limits. WE will tell you if and when you are permitted to do so."

That's our "laws" that we have in effect in this country, and most others, and we think we're free. We believe that we are free beings when an experience has been made "illegal." Imagine the hubris of the individuals who believe they actually have a right to even attempt to say that they're allowed to control consciousness in such a way. It's utter hubris.

The word 'sacrament' comes from the Latin sacrum which means "holy or sacred" and the word mente meaning "mind." So again, the sacrament is that which can help to make the mind holy, or sacred, or whole. What you see in a church is nothing more than a pageantry where you are given an inert proxy for sacrament, a substitute for the real thing. That isn't what a true sacrament is. A true sacrament is an Active Communion with another intelligence, and that's what entheogens are. They are not to be trifled with. If you try to trifle with these compounds you'll find out exactly how much they do not appreciate it. They are consciousnesses that are there as teachers that we can commune with if we know how to use them in a respectful and conscious context.

"If the words 'Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness' don't include the right to experiment with your own consciousness, then the Declaration of Independence isn't worth the hemp it was written on." – Terence McKenna

WE OWN OUR OWN CONSCIOUSNESS. It is ours to modify as we see fit. No one can make that decision for us, and no one is bound to obey a "law" that forbids an experience within one's own consciousness.

And when we choose to commune with these compounds they can open up vistas of creativity, because they're really putting us in touch with the intuitive Right Brain. Art and music can flourish from the communion with these sacraments, so that's one of the ways we can use them to get into deeper touch with the creative aspects of ourselves.

9. POSITIVE THINKING

This is one we all often struggle with, especially those doing the Great Work. We have to keep a sense of humor which is often difficult to do knowing the gravity of the situation we're in, but it's extremely important to be able to look at it light-heartedly. It's also important to see the glass as half full rather than half empty, and try to recognize that we are making small steps in the right direction. We want to focus on the positive, but that never means ignoring the negative. We have to understand that change is possible. Keep that focus in mind. Envision the goal in mind as having already happened as a means of keeping yourself inspired and motivated to keep the work going.

Those who are still asleep, who are in the state of world-view illness, shouldn't be considered evil. Most people aren't willfully trying to hurt others. They need healing, and that's what our job is... to help them heal and awaken. You don't scream at someone for having cancer, you love them and help them get better. So what those who are dis-eased in world view need is love and healing, not hatred. Sometimes sternness is necessary, but that doesn't mean you hate them. Righteous Anger stems from Love, and sometimes the people we love need a metaphorical kick in the butt!

So, try your best to stay positive and not be overcome with disdain, because that will never help us push through these times. Some people we try to help who are attached to their state of consciousness and egoic, self-centered world view may be completely resistant to it. We can only work with them to the extent that we can, and if they are determined to stay in that mentality then it may be best to just allow them to do so. They will find out eventually, in one form or another. No one really escapes the lesson, they can only delay it. And it's a hard lesson to learn.

10. TEACHING OTHERS

The final grassroots solution for consciousness change is to begin to reach out and teach others. We can do this when we ourselves have reached a certain level of higher awareness, when we feel that we grasp these concepts enough that we can begin to explain them in a way that others are capable of understanding, and in a way that they can use to improve their own life.

In order to do this, we have to achieve the Three Rs – the first of which is Respect. It comes from the Latin re- meaning "again" and spectare meaning "to look at." So, Respect is "to take another look, to look at again." In this context, is it to take another look at oneself FIRST before we attempt to bring this information to others. We have to come to a place of Self-Respect, Self-Examination.

Secondly, we need to come to a place of Remembrance. We have been dis-membered in our past. We've all fallen in consciousness and from our Higher Selves, acting in ways that we're not proud of. So, a true teacher is one who has Remembered what the True Self is. They have Re-Membered themselves, brought all the pieces back together. When they have Re-Membered themselves they have also Re-Minded themselves. They have re-enabled the proper world view and the proper operation of the mind.

And lastly, is Responsibility – to come to a true understanding of what Responsibility is. This does not mean the Left-Brained, western, monetary world view of what responsibility is such as how much money you're making, what kind of job you have, taking on various extracurricular activities, etc. That isn't what true Responsibility is. True Responsibility is RESPONSE ABILITY. It is the ability to respond to the circumstances and the situations that we find ourselves in in consciousness, because we are aware of what's going on within ourselves and in our surroundings. Therefore, we have the ability to respond in a proper way to any scenarios that might develop.

That is what True Responsibility is, and it is the understanding that everything is connected, there is no separation between self and others, and every being's suffering is our own. There will be suffering here as long as one being is suffering. That is how you know that you are in any kind of condition of suffering. You ask the question, "is there even one other who suffers?" If the answer is yes, then you know that you're suffering because you know that there is no separation between that other and yourself. That recognition is what Real Responsibility is founded upon.

And when we have the Three Rs, then we can give birth to the Four Cs through teaching. This is helping Conscience to be born into the world.

It's all about Care. What we Care about is the creator of our experience. And if we Care to do the Right thing, Conscience is born within us. This is the Second Birth. To truly be "born again" is to be born in conscience – to know together, definitively, the Knowledge of Right and Wrong.

When one has taken in this knowledge as a student and has developed their Conscience, they have undergone Conversion, from the Latin con- meaning "together" and versare meaning "to change." In the relationship and conversation between teacher and student, we undergo the process to change together.

And ultimately, it's about developing Convictioncon: "together" and vincere: "to win" – to become convinced of something. Not because you believe it or because someone else has told it to you, but because you yourself have recognized it as Truth. The Truth is told so as to be understood. It will be recognized as such. That's what the Truth is ultimately about. It is not belief, it is about gnosis. It is about the understanding of something from the direct experience of that thing. We've become convinced of it because we ourselves have directly experienced it. That means we have come together to a place of victory.

And that is what Atonement is really about. It is to come back to Oneness. To go home, so to speak. To go back to the place where we really came from; the place where there is no noise of thought, no conflict, no chaos, only order and harmony and peace. That is a place that exists within. That is the Kingdom of Heaven, the experience of Divine Consciousness that exists within us. We can reach that place if we turn our mental volume down and we reach the state of Atonement – from Latin a: "depart from," tonare: "make noise," and mente: "mind" – in other words, "to depart from the making of noise with the mind." It's how we unify the Left and Right brain hemispheres in this process of the Chemical Wedding, bringing together the Masculine and Feminine energies to a place of Balance to create Atonement; to put ourselves AT ONE MIND. There is only one Consciousness here, and we're only living in the illusion of separation.

That is what this Work is all about, getting back to that Kingdom. These 10 points are the Grassroots Solutions to help elevate consciousness within ourselves and others, and get us out of this false divide, this mess that we've backed ourselves into. If we put them into practice a New World of Peace, Prosperity and Freedom can be born into existence.
